Regarding the recent clashes between police and teachers outside the District Inspector of Schools' office in Kasba, Pant urged teachers not to engage in any fights. He said this could harm their plan to legally resolve the current difficult situation. Pant said, "We've seen that teachers are going to schools and interacting with students, and I commend them for this. I request them to avoid anything that might interfere with the actions we are planning. I want to assure them that the government is working to find a legal solution to this issue. "He further explained, "We have already asked the Supreme Court for clarification, requesting permission to continue with the current education system. We are waiting for the Supreme Court's decision. Our approach is to find a solution with compassion. We will proceed based on the Supreme Court's instructions".

Pant also mentioned, "The state education department is taking steps to follow the directions given by the School Service Commission. We are focusing on the ten points they presented at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. We will not delay filing our review request in the Supreme Court. The events at the Kasba DI office were regrettable. This unnecessary situation is being created. We do not want this to happen again. We understand their pain and problems; we know they have families and children. We will consider this matter with a sense of humanity".

What is the Statement Given by Policeamen about Kicking Teachers?

Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, when questioned about a policeman kicking a teacher, stated that if public property and the police are attacked, then action is necessary. He asserted that nobody has the right to destroy public property, mentioning that there was an attempt to break the lock at the DI office. Pant emphasized that law and order have to be controlled and nobody should take the law into their own hands, concluding that as a citizen, everybody is bound by the law.

Talking to reporters, Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma, who was present with Pant, said police would facilitate any programme planned by the teachers if they were given prior information. He described finding some teachers trying to enter the DI office, which led to the situation, and reported that six of their policemen were injured.

Verma appealed to teachers to inform them what they want, assuring them that they would facilitate that, and stated that police are not against anybody. He said that today, police were compelled to take action when they were attacked and some of them were injured. The IPS officer noted that they had "no prior intimation about today's programme." Verma agreed that the policeman's kicking one teacher was "absolutely not desirable." He went on to say that only a part of the footage was telecast on news channels and people should also see what compelled the policeman to get into that act, adding that an investigation was initiated. Verma reiterated his full agreement that this is absolutely not desirable, confirming that they are looking into the footage and their senior officer is probing the matter. He repeated that only one portion of the footage was being shown on television channels and concluded by saying that all these things are not desirable.
